| An Acoustic test facility is created to test Hydro phones, Amplifier, Receiver arrangement,
Pre amplifiers under water. The facility has a water tank and two special purpose trolley which are similar. The capacity of each trolley is 500 kgs. During the test both the trolleys are concurrently used, one as Receiver and other as an object. The trolley has a long travel and cross travel motion like any normal trolley and have 3 axis, movement on the object. The long travel and cross travel are driven by electric motor coupled with Gear box, Lifting & lowering ('z'
axis) is made possible by Hydraulic Cylinder. |

| The cross travel frame is mounted with set of Sliding & Ball Screw to achieve the movement of object. Since the accuracy is needed very fine & precise hence Ball Screw arrangement has been made. The degree of accuracy is + 0.5mm in all the x, y & z axes. The cross slides have a movement of 200mm in x & y-axes respectively. To achieve Precision in 'Z' axis, hydraulic circuit is designed accordingly. |

| The lift of the object or test piece is achieved by Hydraulic Cylinder. The Stroke of the cylinder is 4500mm. The other aspect is the object,
which his mounted on the cylinder rod by means of fixture, rotate about its own axis. Here again the rotation of object is highly precise. The object can be rotated at every 0.5 degree to optimize the test conditions. Servo motor with closed gear & pinion and on the Gear the cylinder is fixed. The whole cylinder rotates
360o & back. Hence the rotary movement have an accuracy of 0.25 degree. It is REVERSIBLE TYPE ONLY to avoid cable snatch. |

| The Special trolleys have a PLC PC based system to operate from trolley control cabin and remote control from the test lab. While transducer (test piece) testing done by means of special equipment. The System is giving a reading of distance between the trolley, depth required. These requirements are signaled to the control system of trolley which can sequentially operate the drive to achieve the required position. The system has a manual over side also. Upon positioning the trolley at required point, the testing is conducted by operating Slide drive to achieve the accurate X-Y axis. Once this is achieved the test piece is rotated
and at every 0.5 degree the test results can be recorded. The lift or lower is also done only at this stage. Inter lock is provided in such a way that while main drive of C.T, L.T are operated, the slide drive and lift & lowering cannot be operated. |

| The entire system is provided with substantial interlocking arrangement to avoid any damage to precision items. Anti collision system is also provided to avoid collision between the two trolleys while in operation. |

| The following are the linear measurements that is displayed on the P.C. Screen. | |

| While the object is rotated the degree is displayed on the screen. All the drives are operated through a P.C based station or a control desk for manual driver side. As and when the optimum position, a readings can be recorded. |

| A special attachment is provided to carry 3 Transducers 1200m apart. This has 3 arms. The attachment is being connected to Hydraulic cylinder. The operation of Entire system is Self Explanatory & very friendly. Sufficient Protection has been made in other words it is fool proof machine. The operation is since only through P.C. the detail operation has been dealt separately in Electrical & instrumentation Manual (V0l-II). |
